I was flicking through the internet when I came across a serious document by UNICEF on punishment titled POSITIVE DISCIPLINE - Negative punishment and its effects.

I absolutely understood why it was produced and how important it is for our children to experience a positive environment, positive reinforcement and positive discipline in schools and from their parents.

On the other hand, as I read through the examples of negative punishment I couldn't help smiling at the thought of My submissives.

How wonderful that We as Dommes can and do sometimes use Negative punishment. Here is some examples:

Forced acts that are physically painful or damaging (holding a weight for a long time, kneeling on stones, standing or sitting in a contorted position). CHECK!!

Confinement, being tied up or being forced to remain in one place for an extended period of time. CHECK!!

Verbal assaults, humiliation, ridicule and assaults on dignity, intended to reduce a child’s confidence, self esteem or dignity.

Punishment 101 and its effects

FAVOURABLE AND WHOLESOME PUNISHMENT IN DUNGEONS

Discipline in dungeons can take the form of corporal (physical) or emotional punishment, carried out by Mistresses' and sometimes other dungeon staff, recognising that these are the correct means of disciplining, correcting, controlling, educating, or modifying the behaviour of a submissive.

It also includes acts carried out by another submissive who has been given (or assumed) authority or responsibility to inflict punishment on other submissives.

Discipline causes physical and psychological pain to the submissive on the receiving end, as well as other submissives who witness it. They can be inflicted as: (please tick if you have implemented / used each punishment)

Direct assaults (beating, hitting, slapping or whipping any part of a submissive's body), with or without an implement like a cane, stick or belt. CHECK!

Indirect assaults (pinching, twisting ears and joints, pulling hair, cutting and shaving hair, cutting or piercing skin, or dragging a submissive against his or her will). CHECK

Forced acts that are physically painful or damaging (holding a weight for a long time, kneeling on stones, standing or sitting in a contorted position).CHECK

Deliberate neglect of a submissive's physical needs, such as the need to use the bathroom. CHECK

External substances (burning or freezing materials, water, smoke, excrement or urine) to inflict pain, fear, harm, disgust or loss of dignity. CHECK!!

Hazardous tasks that are dangerous or beyond a submissive's strength (sweeping or digging in the hot sun, using bleach or insecticides, unprotected cleaning of toilets). CHECK

Confinement, being tied up or being forced to remain in one place for an extended period of time. DOUBLE CHECK

Threats of physical punishment. OH YES!CHECK

Verbal assaults, humiliation, ridicule and assaults on dignity, intended to reduce a submissive's confidence, self- esteem or dignity. CHECK

Confined for long periods of time. CHECK

Forced to stand in front of other submissives while being denounced by everyone. CHECK

Hit on the forehead by a ruler thrown by the Mistress. CHECK

Hit on the head by a box of chalks weighing about half a kilo. CHECK

Not being allowed to eat while other submissives do so (punishment administered by the Mistress because submissive did not pay the required fees on time) CHECK

Stripped naked and beaten on the back. CHECK

Two submissives forced to slap each other on their cheeks (butt). CHECK

CANED TODAY, DISCIPLINED FOR LIFE

Corporal and all forms of punishment have far-reaching effects on submissives:

Hitting a submissive teaches that violence is a solution to problems.  

HIT.

Shouting at a submissive teaches them they have to listen more carefully.

SHOUT.

Humiliating a submissive teaches them that they are lowly pigs. 

HUMILIATE.
